The Painted Lady

 I did not meet my previous week goals. I have found it to be very difficult to find time to start and finish a painting. I have also found it hard to keep my interest in one painting. I did however finish a new painting. I got the inspiration to paint this lady off Pinterest. I was instantly drawn to this painting because of the colors that the author had used. I ran into several problems with this painting. First was the paint I used didn't not want to stick to the canvas every time I would move the painting the paint was chipping off. To fix this I had to run to Hobby Lobby and buy some new paint, I think that mine was old. My second problem was I did know how exactly to draw the women’s figure, I tried my best and was overall happy with the result. Here is my take on The Painted Lady. The first step was to start out with a blank canvas.

Next, I add the red, orange, then yellow.

I next had to blend all the colors together. I figured out it was best to mix the color while they were still wet. I end up put at least four coats of paint on it to get the shading as I wanted.

I then drew with a pencil the outline of the women.

Next, I traced my lines with black paint and filled in her body.
